Symptom

Why is the Net Book Value at Reporting Date not equal to the asset's original value minus the asset's depreciation value in the app Asset Balances?

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the app Asset Balances.
  2. Fill out the
  3. Click Go and the Net Book Value at Reporting Date not equal to the asset's original value minus the asset's depreciation value.

Cause

The meaning of key figure group: ABS_DEF is 'Asset Balances for planned values,' which includes the values already planned.

Resolution

If the expected Net Book Value at Reporting Date is equal to the asset's original value minus the asset's depreciation value, kindly select the key figure group: ABS_POSTED, which means Asset Balances for posted values.

Note:

  • P_AssetAccountingKeyFigureSet used to select a key figure group. Kindly select these values of preconfigured key figure groups provided by SAP:

    • ABS_DEF (Asset Balances for planned values)

    • ABS_POSTED (Asset Balances for posted values)

    • DEPR_TOTAL (Total Depreciation with posted and to be posted values)

    • DEPR_WRUP (Write-Ups)
