3683784 - Error When Changing Service Contract End Date: "Cannot change Reference Service Contract..."

After the CE2508.03 release, multiple customers reported the following issue:

• When changing the service contract end date, the system displays the error message:
  "Cannot change Reference Service Contract..."

This issue is due to a system error that has been identified within the CE2508.03 release.

The Emergency Patch (EP) will be implemented for all customers currently live and utilizing service contracts in production systems. We have planned this implementation across all environments, including production, test, and development landscapes, during the upcoming low activity period.

Implementation Date: November 20, 2025 (CET)

Low Activity Periods:

• APJ: Starts at 11:00 PM IST or 11:00 PM CST
• EMEA: Starts at 11:00 PM CET
• USA:
  • Eastern Time: Starts at 11:00 PM EST
  • Pacific Time: Starts at 11:00 PM PST

Estimated Duration: Approximately 30 minutes (no downtime required).

For customers who are not yet live or do not use service contracts in production systems, the correction will be included in release 2508 HFC11. The upgrade window for this release is scheduled for December 12-13, 2025.

Once the patch is deployed, resolving the error requires one of two actions:

1. Trigger the intended changes again, such as updates to the service contract, its items, or performing billing operations. This will prompt the system to reapply validations, which will clear the error from the message container.

2. Make a minor or dummy change, such as updating the description or another inconsequential field. This will also trigger the system checks and remove the error from the message container.

Executing either of these actions ensures the validations are re-triggered and the error is resolved.
