3684082 - How to change tax category for G/L account in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

Error occurs when attempting to modify the tax category from '< or '>' to '*', due to existing balance in the account.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open app Manage G/L Account Master Data.
  2. Attempt to change the tax category.

Cause

When trying to make postings to zero the balance, tax code is mandatory which is not expected, as the expectation is not to post tax relevant postings.

Resolution

In this case, app Post Tax Payables can be used to balance relevant account, as it does not require tax code during postings.

This app allows manual adjustments to tax accounts directly.
