Symptom
- While working in the Cases Work Center, when the advanced filter is opened, a pin icon is visible.
- Users want to understand the purpose and functionality of the Pin icon.
Environment
- SAP Service Cloud Version 2 1.0
- SAP Sales Cloud Version 2 1.0
Reproducing the Issue
- Open the Cases Work Center.
- Select the advanced filter (funnel icon located in the right-hand corner).
- Observe the pin icon and note its functionality.
Cause
The filter panel collapses by default after filters are applied to maximize workspace for viewing results.
Resolution
- The pin icon keeps the advanced filter permanently visible (pinned) on the left side of the screen instead of collapsing automatically after applying filters.
- When the pin icon is active, the advanced filter remains open and visible after hitting the "Apply" button.
- When the pin icon is unpinned (default state), the advanced filter collapses automatically after filters are applied by clicking the "Apply" button.
- Use the pin icon when:
- Constant adjustments to filters are required while reviewing results.
- Analyzing multiple cases with varying conditions.
- Conducting side-by-side comparisons or iterative filtering.
- Avoiding repeated clicks to reopen the advanced filter.
