Symptom

How to change the User attribute for SAML SSO configuration in Datasphere? 

Environment

SAP Datasphere

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login to Datasphere tenant using system owner account. 
  2. Go to System>Administration> security 
  3. Try to change the user attribute  for example from email to User ID.
  4. Click on "Save". 

--> After saving, the mapping always reverted back from User ID to email. 

Resolution

To change the user attribute for SAML SSO configuration in Datasphere:  

  1. Switch back to the default IDP as per the following help guide: Revert to Default Authentication (Legacy Custom IdP) | SAP Help Portal 

  2.  Set up SSO SAML from scratch as per the following help guide: Enabling a Custom SAML Identity Provider (Legacy Custom IdP) | SAP Help Portal
