Symptom
- Custom attributes are not appearing upon importing a BPMN diagram to a new workspace.
- Importing the BPMN XML into another workspace results in missing IDs, causing broken linkages in the model.
Environment
• Import functionality for SAP Signavio Process Manager.
• Export functionality for SAP Signavio Process Manager.
Reproducing the Issue
- Export a BPMN diagram to XML format using SAP Signavio Process Manager.
- Import the exported BPMN XML file into a new workspace.
- Verify that custom attributes are not visible in the imported diagram.
Cause
Attributes of type "dictionary link" contain the link information as "/glossary". When the BPMN XML is imported into another workspace, the given IDs do not exist there, resulting in no working linkage in the model.
Resolution
- 1. Use SGX import/export functionality to ensure dictionary items are created in the new workspace.
- Refer to the SAP Signavio Process Manager user guide for SGX import/export functionality: Export SGX functionality user guide.
