3686347 - Unable to collect Trace Log in Trace Outgoing Format Mappings - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

You have set Tracepoint for certain nodes or for the whole Format Mapping Properties within Map Format Data for Payments app (App ID F2685A), but unable to receive any trace log result after payment execution.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Utilize SAP's standard Payment format mapping or create a custom Payment medium format and release it within Map Format Data for Payments app (App ID F2685A).
  2. Set Tracepoint for certain nodes, or for the whole format by placing the trace at Format Mapping Properties line.
  3. Execute Automatic Payment to release outgoing payment file successfully.
  4. Go to Trace Outgoing Format Mappings app (App ID DMEEX_TRACE_CLOUD), refresh data and cannot see any Trace Logs.

Cause

  • The payment media file is created by a user different from the user activates the Trace.
  • The custom payment medium format is created by copying from the standard format pre-delivered by SAP. In this case, the Trace cannot be executed for a format if its Deviating Format Tree is different from itself.

Resolution

  • Check Deviating Format Tree of the Payment Medium Format within configuration step Create payment medium format (Configuration Activity 102569), and make sure the field is filled with the same name as the format.
  • To collect trace results, the same user must set the Tracepoints and create the payment media file.
  • Also note that, according to Trace Outgoing Format Mappings: Tracepoints are valid only for 5 days after setting them. After 5 days, tracepoints are automatically deleted.
