3686782 - Unremovable Admin Alerts - Planned Working Time

Symptom

In Employee Central you wish to remove the Admin Alerts under Planned Working Time as they refer to users that have been purged.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Core 2505

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Admin Alerts
  2. Select Admin Alert Type > Planned Working Time

You see alerts for users that have been purged which are no longer relevant.

Cause

The alerts are not removed from the system automatically when the users associated with the alerts are purged.

Resolution

If the admin alerts refer to users that have been purged, it is safe (and it also makes sense) to delete them.

I had come across a previous case where it was it was suggested to delete the alerts using an import and export functionality, to which I will include steps below

The easiest way to delete these is using the Manage Data UI.

However, they can also be removed using the following using the following import and export functionality:

Below I will include the steps on how to do this using an import and export functionality:

Export the Planned Working Time Replication Admin Alerts:

  1. Go to application "Import and Export Data" in Employee Central;
  2. Select action to be performed as "Export Data";
  3. Select generic object "Planned Working Time Replication Admin Alert";
  4. Select "Include dependencies" as no (you only want to have the Admin Alerts themselves);
  5. Click on "Export" button;

Result: A list of all existing Planned Working Time Replication Admin Alerts is created as a comma-separated csv file.

As you have now a complete list of existing Planned Working Time Replication Admin Alerts in the Employee Central system, you need to adjust the file to delete the Planned Working Time Replication Admin Alerts through an import. Here it is assumed that you want to delete all of them. 

  1. Replace the first column (="Operation") in the csv with the value "Delete". Save the file and make sure that the file encoding is "UTF-8".
  2. Import the csv file
    Go to application "Import and Export Data" in Employee Central
    Select action to be performed as "Import Data"
    Select Tab "CSV File"
    Select generic object "Planned Working Time Replication Admin Alert"
    Select your file via "Choose File"
    Select "File Encoding" as "Unicode (UTF-8)"
    Click on "Import" button (you might want to do a validation first by clicking on "Validate" button)

Result: Import job is started. You can check the result of the job in application "Monitor job" in Employee Central.
