Symptom

How to change a number range from internal to external.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Resolution

Follow below steps for Changing Number Range in 'Manage Your Solution' app:

  1. Go to 'Manage Your Solution' app.
  2. Open SSCUI 102296 – 'Define Number Ranges'.
  3. Check the current Number Range status for range xx.
  4. Temporarily set it to 0 & mark number range xx as external.
  5. After use, remove the external flag and restore the Number Range status to its original value.

Incase while using SAP Central Business Configuration (CBC) :

  1. Log on to the project experience in SAP Central Business Configuration.
  2. Select the relevant project.
  3. Navigate to the configurations activity tab. 
  4. Search for the configuration activity '102296 – 'Define Number Ranges'.
  5. Select the configuration activity to navigate directly to the SAP S/4HANA Cloud system.
  6. Check the current Number Range status for range xx.
  7. Temporarily set it to 0 & mark number range xx as external.
  8. After use, remove the external flag and restore the Number Range status to its original value.
