3687880 - Peppol Exchange error ‘Failed to Push Document’ in Monitor Documents tab

Symptom

When submitting or receiving eDocuments via Peppol Exchange in SAP Document and Reporting Compliance, cloud edition, the document appears in the Monitor → Documents tab with the error: “Failed to Push Document” 

After examining the error log attached to the message, below entries are displayed:
Error at PUSH operation  
java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: <HTTP code>  
for URL: <endpoint>/pushrequest …
