Symptom

  • The system lacks configuration options to define transportation relevance for delivery documents based on criteria such as goods type or delivery type.
  • Consignment orders appear in the document flow of freight orders during the execution process, and there is no configuration or app available to stop this behavior in the public cloud.
  • The functionality to pay both a carrier for transport and a forwarding agent for clearing and other charges within the same freight order is not available in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.
  • The automated settlement process creates a single, non-editable purchase order and service entry sheet linked exclusively to the main carrier in the freight order header.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a delivery document for a customer with goods requiring transportation management relevance.
  2. Observe that there is no selection criterion available in the configuration ID "105126 - Define Transportation-Relevance of Delivery Documents" to differentiate goods requiring TM relevance from those that do not.
  3. Start the execution process for a freight order and observe that consignment orders appear in the document flow.
  4. Attempt to configure payment to two different partners (carrier and forwarding agent) for separate charges within one freight order in the public cloud.

Cause

Missing functionality in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition to support advanced configurations for transportation relevance and payment to multiple vendors within a single freight order.

Resolution

  1. Define charge types for different services such as base freight, loading charges, and additional services like clearing charges.

  3. Assign charge types within a freight order to represent the services procured from carriers and forwarding agents.
  4. Perform cost distribution in the freight order to allocate costs accurately across different services.
