Symptom
When requesting a Claim, the employee receives an error message upon saving:
"The currency linked to this claim request is invalid. It may have been deleted, deactivated, or does not match the current currency for the benefit. Please decline the request. The employee should reinitiate the claim after the benefit configuration is corrected by the administrator."
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the employee profile and try to claim the affected benefit;
- after populating the information and submitting the request, the error message will show.
Cause
There is a rule changing the Currency of the request to a different value than the currency defined on the benefit. This is a wrong configuration, as currency conversion or change directly on the Claim request is not supported in any way.
In the 2H2025 hardcoded validations were added to support the standard configuration supported to avoid data issues.
Resolution
The standard set up consists configuring individual Benefits for each currency.
If you would like to have standard benefits to support multiple currencies in 1 benefit, we encourage you to submit an enhancement request to have this functionality considered within future development cycles – you can do this on our influence request portal at https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/. For detailed steps on how to raise an enhancement request please follow KBA Article 2090228 on “How to submit an enhancement request”.
