3688799 - Dropdown Field Loading Permanently When Attempting to Change The Field Value

Symptom

When attempting to change the value of a dropdown field the field will load permanently and will not display its list of values for selection.

Environment

SAP Cloud For Customer

Reproducing the Issue

This can happen to any dropdown field, below is one example scenario:

  1. Go to accounts workcenter.
  2. Open any Account.
  3. Try to edit any dropdown field in the account.
  4. See that dropdown is loading permanently.

Cause

The field sorting has been set to custom on adaptation.

Resolution

Custom sorting can cause dropdown fields not to load. 

To resolve the issue, open adaptation mode and select the field. Then, drill down to codelist level on the field and set the value of the sorting to Default.
