3689468 - Restore benefits enrollment when employee separation date is changed or separation is revoked

Symptom

Benefits enrollment is configured to be inactivated on the day termination is created, but when the date is changed or the termination is deleted the enrollments are not updated.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Configure benefits enrollment in SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central to auto-end on the day separation is performed
  2. Create an employee termination record with any date
  3. After that the enrollments are auto inactivated
  4. Modify the date or delete the termination prior to the effective date
  5. Observe that the benefit enrollments that were inactivated are not restored or updated automatically

Cause

The Intelligent Services Center does not monitor or follow up on changes made to event parameters after publication and rules cannot be triggered during the deletion of records.

Resolution

If the termination is updated or deleted, you will need to manually update the benefit enrollments as the system cannot trigger rules during deletion of records nor monitor any updates related to already triggered events.

If additional automation is required, we ask you to please submit an enhancement request following SAP Knowledge Article 2090228. This way, other customers can vote for it and our Product Management Team can consider it for future updates.
