Symptom
While releasing Outbound Delivery, error message appears as "Negative stock not permitted".
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Outbound Logistics Work center.
- Go to Outbound Deliveries view.
- Search for relevant Outbound Delivery ID ABC (ABC represents Outbound delivery ID).
- Choose Release.
- The error occurs "Negative stock not permitted".
Cause
- The Outbound Delivery for product ABC initially released with quantity X, where the stock is assigned using labels without identified stock.
- Later, the same Outbound Delivery is Undo Released. During Adjustment Confirmation, the quantity increased from X to Y by assigning additional labels in the Assigned Labels tab.
- The newly added labels for product ABC contain identified stock, while the originally assigned labels contain non-identified stock.
- During Adjustment Confirmation, combining identified and non-identified stock in the same line item caused the system to convert all stock to identified stock, resulting in Y units of identified stock in the Outbound Delivery.
- However, the Stock Overview for product ABC does not contain sufficient identified stock quantity (Y).
- Therefore, when attempting to release the Outbound Delivery, the system throws an error due to insufficient identified stock.
(Where ABC is the Product id, X and Y indicates quantity of product ABC).
Resolution
- Go to Outbound Logistics Work Center.
- Go to By Warehouse Order sub view under Monitoring view.
- Search Warehouse Order DEF (DEF represents the warehouse Order ID).
- Choose Adjustment Confirmation.
- Instead of adding labels with identified stock in the same line, add them in a separate line using split quantities.
