3689923 - SAP HANA System Replication registration attempts connection to port 3010x / 302xx although both systems run SAP HANA 2.0

Symptom

During SAP HANA System Replication registration on the secondary system, the process tries to connect to ports such as 3010x or 302xx, although both the primary and secondary system are running SAP HANA 2.0.

The registration command fails with errors similar to:

  • unable to contact primary site host <hostname or IP>:40002
  • nameserver <host>:30001 not responding
  • unable to contact primary site: <host>:3010x
  • fallback to compatibility ports observed in trace files

Customers may assume that this behavior is related to SAP HANA 1.0 remnants or an incomplete upgrade.
