3690387 - Error When Creating a New Identification Category for Business Partner

When creating a new identification category, the following error message appears:

• Select a key from the allowed namespace.
  Message no. SV019
• Diagnosis : You tried to add a new entry, and when doing so, used a key value that lies outside of the namespace you manage.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Go to the Implementation activities app.
2. Open the 'Define identification category' configuration activity.
3. Attempt to create a new entry.
4. Observe the error message.

• The Configurations and customizings are delivered by SAP through SET Content framework in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition systems. Since, the content is owned by SAP and delivered every release, it is not allowed to maintain entries through SSCUIs within SAP namespaces.
• Therefore, restrictions are applied and only Z* or Y* entries are allowed.

• Create a custom identification category with a key beginning with the letters "Y" or "Z".
• Map the newly created identification category to the Identification Type.

Follow below steps for creating custom identification category in Manage Your Solution' app:

1. Open 'Manage Your Solution' app.
2. Navigate to 'Configure Your Solution'.
3. Search for the ID '500092'.
4. Choose configuration activity '103653 - Define Identification Category'.
5. Display & select the relevant project.
6. Create a custom identification category.
7. Choose configuration activity '103654 - Define Identification Types'.
8. Create a new ID Type & Assign created custom identification category.
9. Save the changes.

In case while using SAP Central Business Configuration (CBC) :

1. Log on to the project experience in SAP Central Business Configuration.
2. Select the relevant project.
3. Navigate to the configurations activity tab. 
4. Search for the configuration activity '103653 - Define Identification Category'.
5. Select the configuration activity to navigate directly to the SAP S/4HANA Cloud system.
6. Display & select the relevant project.
7. Create a custom identification category.
8. Search for the configuration activity '103654 - Define Identification Types'.
9. Create a new ID Type & Assign created custom identification category.
10. Save the changes.
