Symptom
- The Latest Goal Management upgrade page lacks a button to return to the homepage or a topbar for navigation to other pages.
- The goal tab doesn't appear under home-drop down.
- Users are unable to navigate away from the page unless they use the browser's back button or the original access link, which is inconvenient.
- The issue is replicable when accessing the page via the "Manage My Objectives" option on the homepage, but the navigation button is missing due to lack of tab permissions.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Goal Management
Reproducing the Issue
- Log in to the system.
- Try to navigate to goals from home-drop button, observe the goal/objective button doesn't show up
- Now try to navigate to Goal page via "Manage My Objectives" on the homepage.
- Observe the absence of a button to return to the homepage or a topbar for navigation.
Cause
The missing navigation button is expected behavior caused by the user not having the required tab permissions for that page. When a user does not have permission to access the Goal tab, the back button will not appear.
Resolution
- Enable the "Objective Management Access" permission under Role-Based Permissions (RBP) to get the goal tab under home-drop down
