Symptom
- Links created via Configure Custom Navigation, set to open in the current tab, incorrectly open in a new tab when accessed through the Full Employee Profile.
- This behaviour is observed for external links, including document generation links, linked to menu location "person - take action".
- In the legacy Employee Profile, the links function correctly and open in the current tab as configured.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
Reproducing the Issue
- Configure a custom navigation link to open a URL in the current tab and link it to the menu location "person - take action".
- Access the legacy Employee Profile and navigate to a user's profile.
- Select "Action" > Take Action > and click on the configured link. Confirm that the link opens correctly in the same tab.
- Enable the Full Employee Profile.
- Navigate to "All Actions" > under "take action" and click on the same link. Observe that the link opens in a new tab, which is incorrect behaviour.
Cause
- Engineering confirmed that the API requires code correction to address the issue.
Resolution
- Engineering has provided a fix for the issue.
- The fix will be delivered as part of the m2512 patch, scheduled for production deployment on December 10.
