3691326 - Legal entity transfer onboarding without recruiting

Symptom

  • Challenges in initiating the onboarding process for Legal Entity Transfer (LET) scenarios directly in SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding without using Recruiting.
  • Desired process involves future-dated termination, manual onboarding initiation, rehire checks, completion of onboarding tasks, and rehire in MPH, which is not supported by the standard system behavior.
  • SAP documentation specifies that LET initiation is only supported via Recruiting, not directly in Onboarding.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a future-dated termination for an employee in Employee Central.
  2. Attempt to manually initiate onboarding with a start date equal to the termination date +1.
  3. Perform rehire checks and accept as Rehire with New Employment.
  4. Complete onboarding tasks such as PDC, ADC, HM tasks, compliance tasks, etc.
  5. Rehire the employee in MPH upon completion of all steps.

Cause

The standard system behavior does not support direct initiation of onboarding for Legal Entity Transfer scenarios from Employee Central. Legal Entity Transfer initiation is only supported via Recruiting.

Resolution

  1. Follow the standard system design for LET initiation, which requires onboarding to be triggered through Recruiting.
  2. Direct initiation from Employee Central is not supported for LET scenarios.
