3691423 - Impact of deleting fields from job requisition template - SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

Symptom

Inquiry on the impact of deleting fields from the job requisition template.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Plan to delete several fields from the job requisition template.
  2. Open an existing job requisition and check whether the values stored in the deleted fields appear in the form.

Cause

Resolution

Deleting fields and their data from the requisition will delete all the data for those affected fields. If the field is deleted, the data stored under the affected field will not be recoverable in the future.

To avoid data loss, it is recommended to remove the permissions related to the field instead of deleting it. This will hide the field on the user interface while retaining the stored data. The field can be recovered or unhidden later if needed.
