3691490 - Incorrect Exchange rate calculation during CAMT053 Bank Statement processing.

Symptom

  • The exchange rates are considered as multiplication instead of division to calculate the values of amount of the postings made by the bank statement using CAMT file.
  • Example - The original amount is in USD currency and also the exchange rate in the tag <XchgRate> is given in the statement file as

    <CcyXchg>
    <SrcCcy>CHF</SrcCcy>
    <TrgtCcy>USD</TrgtCcy>
    <XchgRate>1.27551</XchgRate>
    </CcyXchg>

    And to calculate the CHF amount, the exchange rate 1.27 has to be divided (USD ÷ 1.27 = CHF ), but instead the amount is multiplied by 1.27 to give an incorrect CHF amount.
