Symptom
- During the termination process of a manager with no active direct reports, the termination screen requests to select what to do with the direct reports.
- The manager being terminated has only retired subordinates, yet the transfer direct reports section is triggered.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
Reproducing the Issue
- Proxy as the designated user.
- Navigate to the manager's profile.
- Initiate the termination process for the manager.
- Select a termination date
- Observe the transfer direct reports section being triggered, despite the absence of active subordinates.
Cause
Employment Status is as Retired, the system doesn't recognize that is terminated so the retired employee is still part of the Position Hierarchy.
Resolution
Retired is not the same as Terminated.
If the employment hasn't been terminated (there was no effective termination), the person continues to exist as an "employee" in Position Management, only with retired status.
Therefore, the system still recognizes the retiree's position that should be transferred and still offers the option of Transfer Direct Reports if the Manager is going to be terminated.
