3691877 - Error message "SD_I-SHIPPINGPOINT does not exist" when using API_AVAIL_TO_PROMISE_CHECK

Symptom

When using API_AVAIL_TO_PROMISE_CHECK to check product availability in sales order, the error message 'Characteristic SD_I-SHIPPINGPOINT does not exist' appears.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

The characteristic used in the payload is not existing in the catalog for the activated scenario, such as product allocation (PAL),  Alternative-Based Confirmation (ABC) or supply protection (SUP), etc.

The catalog must be activated for the API to function correctly. It is essential to include the characteristic SD_I-SHIPPINGPOINT in the catalog, as this is mandatory for the API's operation. Without this characteristic, the API will not work as expected.

Resolution

Go to the Manage Characteristic Catalogs app and add the characteristic "Shipping Point/Receiving Point".
