Symptom
When trying to make changes to the Billing Document, the error occurs "Pricing error: Mandatory condition ZNET/ZNTP is missing".
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to Manage Billing Document app and select the affected billing document.
- Select "Change Billing Document".
- At the bottom of the screen, observe "Pricing Error in item 01".
- Double-click on 01 and access the pricing conditions tab.
- Note ZNET and ZNTP conditions highlighted in red and the message "Pricing error: Mandatory condition ZNET/ZNTP is missing" at the bottom left.
Cause
ZNET and ZNPT are configured as Required conditions in the pricing procedure. When the item quantity is entered as 0, the system still performs pricing, but these conditions cannot determine a value. As a result, pricing remains incomplete and the system raises an error.
Resolution
The system is working as designed. To address this issue, the following options are available:
- Adjust Pricing Procedure:
1. Remove the Required flag for ZNET/ZNTP so missing values do not trigger errors.
2. If the flag must remain, ensure a valid value is maintained for these conditions so pricing does not fail.
- Correct Item Rejection Handling:
1. Use a Reason for Rejection, or
2. Cancel/delete the item, to ensure it is correctly excluded from delivery and billing.
- Zero-Quantity Invoice Requirement:
Displaying zero-quantity items on invoices is not supported by Standard SAP behavior.
