3692120 - Profit center not updated automatically in open sales orders after master data changes

Symptom

After adjusting the master data and changing the profit center, the open sales orders are not automatically updated.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

This is the system expected behavior. Once the master data is changed, the documents already created are not affected.

Resolution

For newly created sales documents, the new profit center will be determined correctly.

For the open sales orders, if it's necessary to update the profit center, instead of manually changing the profit center one by one in each item of each sales order, it's possible to do a mass update by using the app 'Mass Change of Sales Orders' (ID: F5211).

  1. Open the app 'Mass Change of Sales Orders' (ID: F5211).
  2. Navigate to the tab 'Sales Order Items'.
  3. Select Change > Change Item Data.
  4. Adjust the settings and submit the job.

Note: sales orders in status other than 'Open' cannot have its profit center changed.
