Why required field validation does not enforce for multiattachmentselection fields in Candidate Experience ?

multiattachmentselection fields sourced from the Application Template display a mandatory asterisk as a visual indicator. However, enforcing step-by-step navigation blockings (disabling the Next button) or full validation on save/submit for these fields requires deeper framework-level UI changes. Fields originating from the Application Template therefore lack mandatory enforcement in Candidate Experience (CX). This is expected behavior.

As part of the 1H2026 release, the required asterisk for multiattachmentselection fields is now correctly displayed in the reimagined candidate experience when the field is configured as required in the application template. However, the required validation error will not be shown if CX is enabled upon submission of application or save.

The Workarounds the engineering team provided are:

• Define the field in the Candidate Profile Template — As described in KBA 3517379, multiattachmentselection validation enforces on save or submit when the field is configured in the Candidate Profile template. Note: this option may not meet all business requirements — for example, when documents such as National ID attachments must be collected specifically within the application flow.

• Use RMK Mobile Apply — Required field validation for multiattachmentselection fields enforces correctly in standard RMK Mobile Apply. These validation discrepancies do not occur there.

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting is no longer accepting enhancement requests. Future recruiting development investment is focused on SmartRecruiters and its integration with Recruiting Marketing (RMK).
