3692755 - Workflows are only started if the Event Queue job is running

Symptom

  • Events are raised by the application but the corresponding workflow is not started;
  • Those events can be seen in transaction SWEQBROWSER (Event Queue);
  • When the job SWEQSRV (or SAP_WORKFLOW_EVENT starting on S/4HANA 1709) is scheduled and running, the events are delivered and the workflows started.
