3693315 - Manage Organization, Pay and Job structure - Searching using description shows no result

Symptom

Searching using translated description is not working.
Location code does not display when searching by description in the location field.

Environment

Foundation Objects (Organization, Pay and Job Structures)
Employee Central

Reproducing the Issue

1. Go Manage Organization, Pay and Job structure.
2. Select all location object.
3. Change Description.
4. Search the object per new description.
5. Observe UI will not display any result.

Cause

System limitation: Search functionality in the admin tool "Manage Organization" is limited to the object name field and does not include the description field.

Resolution

The behavior observed is a system limitation regardless of the language used for description.
Only data from location field "name" is searchable in the UI.
If the functionality to search by description is required, submit an enhancement request to SAP.
