Symptom
- When converting a supplier quotation to a Purchase Order, the system ignores the quotation price and adopts the price from the Purchase Requisition.
- Item warning log shows: "Price for item 00010 adopted from requisition."
- Quotation validity has already expired at the time of PO creation.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
-
Create a Purchase Requisition with a valuation price.
-
Create a Supplier Quotation referencing this PR.
-
Allow the quotation validity period to expire.
-
Convert the PR/quotation into a Purchase Order.
-
Observe that the PO price is not taken from the quotation but from the PR.
Cause
- The quotation is no longer a valid price source once its validity period has expired.
- Since the quotation is invalid, the system falls back to the next available price source – the PR price.
Resolution
-
Extend the validity date of the quotation so it is valid at the time of PO creation.
-
After updating the validity, recreate or update the PO; the system will pick the quotation price correctly.
-
No system defect; this is standard behavior of Purchase Order price determination.
