Error occurred during material planning run:

Product ABC in planning area XYZ planned with failures; save and check results of interactive planning log 

After saving, there is an exception log with reason:

Source of Supply Not Found

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Supply Planning work center.

2. Go to Products view.

3. Search product ABC with planning area XYZ (ABC and XYZ represents the object ID), select Open.

4. Select Run Planning: Single (or Multi) BoM level.

5. Error message raises: Product ABC in planning area XYZ planned with failures; save and check results of interactive planning log.

6. Save the change.

7. Go to Supply and Demand tab, Exceptions subtab.

8. There is a new exception record with Exception Reason: Source of Supply Not Found. 

The cause of 'Source of Supply Not Found' error can be various.

One of the causes is the product is supplied by In-house Production in the planning area, but the production model does not exist.

Steps to verify the cause:

1. Open the material master data of product ABC.
2. Go to Planning tab.
3. Select the record for Planning area XYZ.
4. In the details below, Procurement Type is selected as In-house Production.
5. Go to Planning and Production Master Data work center.
6. Go to Production Models view.
7. Search product ABC.

There is no production model for the product with planning area XYZ.

If the product needs to be supplied by In-house Production, create a production model and release it for the product in the planning area.

If the product needs to be supplied by other channels like External Procurement, update the Procurement Type for the planning area in the material master data, under Planning tab.
