3694520 - Not possible to deactivate app Post Currency Adjustment in Maintain Business Roles

Symptom

The requirement is to deactivate app Post Currency Adjustments in IAM apps, but the "Deactivate" option for the app "Post Currency Adjustments" is disabled.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Access app Maintain Business Roles.
  2. Under tab IAM Apps, attempt to deactivate the app "Post Currency Adjustments".
  3. Observe that the "Deactivate" option is disabled.

Cause

The business catalog for app Post Currency Adjustment is SAP_FIN_BC_GL_CLOSING_PC. Then in app IAM information system, you could see for business catalog SAP_FIN_BC_GL_CLOSING_PC, Supports IAM Apps = No. 

Resolution

Check IAM Apps - App Authorization Variant:

Business catalogs transform from single entities into entities that bundle app authorization variants. You can activate or deactivate these variants in a business role. As a result, app authorization variants are now the smallest unit for business role design. This offers greater flexibility in managing user authorizations, including app usage. In a business role, you can activate or deactivate authorization variants from the business catalog.

Business catalogs that support IAM apps contain app authorization variants. If business catalogs do not yet support IAM apps, they remain the smallest entity for business role design.
