Resolution
- For what emails is this option available
The custom sender address option outlined here only applies to RMK sent emails, ie RMK job alerts and Email campaigns emails
- What prerequisites and restrictions are there to enabling this feature?
- The primary URL for the career site must be a custom URL. For standard URLs it is not possible to setup a custom sender domain. You can only customize the local-part for each sender address, ie what is before the at-symbol. For example, noreply@mail.jobs.example.com.
- Customers can only use their own custom career site domain
- Custom sender domains are always a combination of the subdomain mail and the career site domain or branded domain. For example, if your site URL is jobs.example.com, then your email domain is mail.jobs.example.com. The subdomain mail is a technical requirement. Using a different subdomain is not possible.
- We only provide a public key for production systems, because RMK emails are only sent out by production systems.
- What are the steps to enable the feature
- Create a ticket with Support via SAP for me. Instructions are provided in the Implementation guide page : Requesting a Public Key for Your Domain from SAP .
Make sure the subject of the case is : SFSF RMK DKIM Certificate and the selected component : LOD-SF-RMK-CSB-CFG - SAP Support will create a request with our Operations team and come back with the Public key
- Once the Key is installed on the SAP side the Section Verify DNS Configuration for Custom Site Sender Address in CSB under Settings/Site Configuration/site Information is expanded.
- Customer must do the required configuration in their DNS server. (SPF, MX, DKIM, DMARC) More details can be found in the Implementation guide page :Verifying DNS Configuration for a Custom Sender Address.
Important note : This task should be performed by the customer's organization's IT personnel, or someone with technical knowledge of their email infrastructure and access to the organization's DNS provider account. SAP Support cannot provide detailed instructions or guidance on these steps. - Once the configuration is completed and correct, the entries will be populated and marked as active in the previously mentioned section and the custom domain will be populated in the domain portion of the Email settings section in CSB under Settings/Site Configuration/site Information.
- Once the Custom Sender Address slider becomes active, enable it.
- Job alert emails and campaign emails are now sent from the custom sender address you've configured.
- What issues can be encountered and what to look out for
The Use Custom Sender Address setting is disabled : See KBA 3711928 - Use Custom Sender Address option in Site Configuration is greyed Out - Recruiting Marketing
Key has been requested and provided and DNS configuration done but Email settings section in CSB is not updated:
DNS information is only shown in the Verify DNS Configuration for Custom Site Sender Address section if your primary site URL is a custom URL and you've already requested a public key for your domain from SAP.
If the key was requested with the Platform team instead of RMK, the settings won't be updated. This is because RMK does not use the same platform as Bizx. Keys provided for the Bizx email framework will not work for RMK.
A new request has to be submitted to the proper team with the correct information.
