3694683 - Delivery can be created successfully with partial confirmation even though "full delivery" is set.

Symptom

You maintain the availability check rule as "B full delivery" in configuration activity 106305 - Configure Default Settings by Sales Area, but you find that the delivery can still be created with partial confirmation.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a sales order.

  2. Sales order gets fully confirmed after ATP check.

  3. Create delivery with reference.

  4. Find only partial confirmation in delivery.

Cause

In the sales order, the storage location was not maintained, which led to the ATP check showing sufficient quantity. However, when creating the delivery, the system automatically assignes a storage location based on customizing, and that storage location does not have enough stock.

This results in what appears to be a partial confirmation is allowed by sales, but in reality, it is due to the different levels of ATP check causing the available quantity to differ (the sales order ATP check only considers the plant level available stock, while the delivery check considers the storage location stock).

Resolution

Maintain the storage location in the sales order to ensure consistent ATP check level.
