3694746 - SI_ID close to max integer limit (2147483647) in BI

Symptom

  • The SI_ID in the database is close to or reaching the max integer limit of 2147483647 

  • If this limit is hit, the following symptoms may be seen:
    Object ID in CMS database was generated in a negative number.

    As a result the following issues were generated (not an exhaustive list):
    • Users are unable to view, copy, or schedule report in SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform.
    • The publication remains in a running state without producing any output.
    • Error messages encountered include:
      • "3 exceptions occurred Message for exception 1: A critical exception has occurred, please share these details with your Administrator. The associated files of the following objects were not successfully written to the File Repository. These new objects are not functional and must be removed."
      • "Message for exception 2: The file URL .rpt is not valid."
      • "Message for exception 3: The file URL .jpeg is not valid."
    • Intermittent slowness, freezing, or spinning while navigating the Central Management Console (CMC).
    • Users are unable to create new users or schedules.
    • The menu is not shown correct when right click a new created server or folder
