3695031 - Released value not updating in Value Contract after subsequent document creation

Symptom

When working with Value Contracts, the released value is not getting updated when subsequent documents are created referencing the contract, e.g. a Sales Order.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

The subsequent document for the value contract have referenced only the header, but not the items, so the open value cannot be deducted by the actual used value.

Resolution

If the subsequent documents weren't created with the correct link, then the system is behaving correctly in maintaining the full value open.

The subsequent documents, like the sales orders, should be created referencing the value contract in header and item level, so the system can calculate the open value correctly.
