3695158 - Employee can view photo of others in standard Org Chart block of PP3 even if no permission is granted

Symptom

Even if employee has no permission to view photo of others, he can view it via standard Org Chart block (block type: MINI_ORG_CHART_BLOCK) of PP3.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

  • Employee Profile

Reproducing the Issue

1. Go to User Role Search, set 

  • Access Users = Employee A
  • Permission Category = Employee data
  • Permission = Photo (View)/(Edit)
  • Target User(optional) = Employee B

 and Search Roles, it can be confirmed Employee A has no permission role.

2. Proxy as Employee A and go to legacy employee profile of Employee B.

3. In standard Org Chart block (block type: MINI_ORG_CHART_BLOCK), photo of Employee B is visible (NOT expected). 

4. Click on Link: View full organizational chart, photo of Employee B is NOT visible (Expected).

Cause

It is due to browser cache. 

Resolution

Clear browser cache then the issue should be resolved:

1. Click the three vertical dots (Menu icon) in the top right corner of the browser.
2. Go to "More tools".
3. Select "Clear browsing data".
4. In the pop-up window, choose a time range (e.g., "All time").
5. Make sure "Cached images and files" is checked. You might also want to check "Cookies and other site data" or "Browsing history" depending on your needs.
6. Click "Clear data".

If clear browser cache does not work, please raise a ticket to LOD-SF-EP team, provide company ID and English written approval, then ask engineering team to disable cache toggle in the backend.
