3696147 - "Failed to update the job request" error while creating or updating any provisioning job

Symptom

  • Unable to update the provisioning  job.
  • Error message: "Failed to update the job request."
  • Unable to create a new job.
  • Error message: "Failed to create or update this job. Please check if the schedule setup is correct."

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create new or edit existing provisioning job.
  2. Attempt to save the changes.
  3. Observe the error message: "Failed to update the job request."

Cause

The job name exceeds the 80-character limit for job names in the provisioning system.

Resolution

  1. Verify the job name length in the Provisioning system.
  2. If the job name exceeds the 80-character limit, shorten it to meet the limit.
  3. Update the job owner and save the changes.
