3696213 - Error 11060 when executing a dynamic prepared statement using table variables - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • A 11060 error may be reported by SAP ASE when a dynamic prepared statement which uses table variables is executed.
    • When using jConnect JDBC Driver, the connection property DYNAMIC_PREPARE is set to true (by default) and PreparedStatement is used to execute the queries.
  • The error along with the following message text is returned to the session:

This statement has exceeded the maximum number of recompilations (20). This indicates an internal error. Please note the error prior to this one and contact SAP Technical Support.
