Symptom

System restricts warning/error messages to 200 characters, preventing longer messages from being saved or displayed.

Environment

SAP Sales Cloud and SAP Service Cloud Version 2

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Navigate to Extensibility View.
  3. Select any service.
  4. Access Validations.
  5. Create or edit an existing validation.
  6. Attempt to add an error/warning message exceeding 200 characters.
  7. Observe that the system prevents typing or pasting more than 200 characters.

Cause

The current allowed character limit is 200 for error/warning messages, and the system is functioning as designed.

Resolution

To request an increase in the character limit, raise an idea on the influence portal using the following link: SAP Influence Portal for Sales Service Cloud Version 2.
