Symptom

Unable to edit the translation of Tax Number Type descriptions for VAT Registration Number in Business Configuration.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer Core Applications

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Business Configuration → Overview.
  2. Search for and open the activity Maintain Tax Number Types.
  3. Choose Translate in the top-right corner.
  4. Select the target language.
  5. In the table, scroll to the relevant tax number type, VAT Registration Number and expand the node.
  6. Required translation cannot be edited.

Cause

It is expected system behavior.

Resolution

For SAP-delivered configuration objects (such as standard Tax Number Types), description translations are locked in Business Configuration. Therefore, translation fields for VAT Registration Number cannot be edited, as these texts are maintained by SAP.
