3697626 - Error (-1) while retrieving certificates from SAP_WDISP_EXTSRV_... Certificates not available!

While logged on to the SAP Web Dispatcher Web Admin UI, you access the "Monitor application servers" option under one of the backend systems that are configured.

Then, the error message below is received when trying to click one one of the servers listed and then on the option "Establish trust":

Error (-1) while retrieving certificates from SAP_WDISP_EXTSRV_...
Certificates not available!

At the same time, the following entries are written to the SAP Web Dispatcher trace file (dev_webdisp):
