3697642 - SAML SSO Issue for a specific user when opening a story in SAC which consumes data from a SSO tunnel connection to BW

• A specific user is unable to run a report/story in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) based on a tunnel connection to BW;
• The error message displayed is: "You were not automatically logged on to the remote data source. Please ask your administrator to verify the SAML Single Sign On Configuration."
• The issue occurs only for this specific user, while other users in the organization can access the same report/story without issues.
• The specific user can run the same report using Analysis Office directly connecting to the SAP BW system.

SAP Analytics Cloud 2025.21.9

1. Log in SAC;
2. Open the story:
   1. The error message "You were not automatically logged on to the remote data source. Please ask your administrator to verify the SAML Single Sign On Configuration." is displayed.

The specific user's email address was linked to multiple user records in the backend system, causing authentication issues when accessing the report/story in SAC.

1. Verify the user's email address/user ID in the backend system using transaction code SE16 and table ADR6.
2. Identify all user records linked to the specific user's email address/user ID.
3. Remove or deactivate redundant user records in the backend system, ensuring only the valid user record is linked to the user's email address.
4. Test the connection by having the user access the report/story in SAC again.
5. If the issue persists, collect updated ICM and traffic trace logs for further analysis.

NOTE: 

• ADR6 can still contain additional address records that are no longer assigned to any active user.
• USR21 shows the current, active link between a user and an address number.
