3697715 - Universal Allocation – Functional Area is re-derived in SAP S/4HANA

Symptom

  • When executing Universal Allocation for Cost Center with Distribution, the Functional Area on the sender cost center is re-derived during posting.
  • The allocation does not retain the original Functional Area from the source transaction.
  • This behavior differs from classic CO / JVA allocation, where it is possible to keep the original Functional Area via configuration.
  • The difference creates a functional gap for customers migrating from classic allocation to Universal Allocation.
