Symptom
- In the Check Cash Flow Items app, adjusting the Snapshot Time does not reflect the expected uncleared cash flow items.
- Unable to accurately track past cash management reconciliation status for specific transactions.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Access the "Check Cash Flow Item" app.
- Adjust the "Snapshot Time" to a specific date and time.
- Observe the reconciliation status reflected in the app for the specified date and time.
- Set the "Snapshot Time" to a date prior to the reconciliation date.
- Verify if items not yet cleared as of the specified date are displayed in the app.
Cause
This behavior is consistent with the standard system logic of SAP S/4HANA Cloud.
When an original Journal Entry and its corresponding clearing Journal Entry are processed within the same batch, they receive identical creation timestamps. In this scenario, the system logic bypasses the creation of a separate cash flow item for the original entry because the lifecycle (creation to clearing) happened instantaneously within the same database commit.
Consequently, the "Snapshot Time" filter cannot capture a state where the item was "open" because that state never existed as a distinct time interval in the system records.
Resolution
This is the standard system behavior.
