3698027 - Clarification: Correct Configuration of dbs/hdb/connect_property in ABAP Profile Parameters

Symptom

Customers configuring dbs/hdb/connect_property encounter one or more of the following situations:

  • Uncertainty whether comma or semicolon must be used as delimiter
  • Attempt to define dbs/hdb/connect_property multiple times in RZ10
  • Expectation that setting CONNECTTIMEOUT=0 disables all connection timeouts
  • SQL error -10807 still occurs although timeout parameters were adjusted
  • Confusion about the relationship between CONNECTTIMEOUT and nodeConnectTimeout
