Environment

SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Download a AO workbook from BPC and save as local file in PC.
  2. Reopen the local workbook in AO directly.
  3. The login dialogue pops up and credentials are asked.

Cause

From AO version 2.8 SP11, the connection framework has been refactored to make AO’s connections to the various data providers more robust and faster, as a consequence, in some workflows existing workbooks required adjustment or a specific setting needed to be enabled.

Resolution

  • Set the AO setting UseSingleConnectionPerDestination to true as described in SAP Note 3083429, the download workbook will then use the connection information from SAP GUI to enable SSO, regardless the SSO status persisted in the workbook.
  • Set ForceRefreshConnectionInfo to true will also resolve the issue.
