3698863 - Reverse Staging for Production doesn't adopt Top HU with "Highest-Level HU" setting SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

  • The app "Clear Production Supply Area" creates warehouse tasks only for sub-level items instead of top-level items.
  • Issue occurs when attempting to return top-level items packed with sub-level items to the production supply area.
  • The expected behavior is to create warehouse tasks for the top-level items, but the system generates tasks for sub-level items only.
  • The Level of Avail.Qty is set as "Highest-Level HU" and HU Picking Control is set as "Propose Source as Destination HU".

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the app "Clear Production Supply Area".
  2. Select PSA and PSA
  3. Select the entry and Click "Create warehouse tasks".
  4. Verify that the system creates multiple warehouse tasks with Sub-HUs instead of creating tasks for the top-level item.

Cause

The reversing staging for production warehouse task creation operates on physical stock level instead of available stock level, ignoring previous customizations.

Resolution

  1. Create warehouse tasks for the top-level item using the Warehouse Monitor application.
  2. Navigate to "Stock and Bin -> Available Stock".
  3. Use Warehouse Process Type (WPT) like S325 to adopt top-level items for warehouse tasks.
