3698952 - Document Flow Not Displayed in Sales Quote After Creating Follow-Up Sales Order in SAP S/4HANA

Symptom

The Document Flow in the Sales Quote UI (SAP Sales Cloud Version 2) does not automatically display related documents after creating a follow-up Sales Order in SAP S/4HANA or SAP ERP.

Use Case Example

  • A Sales Quote is created in SAP Sales Cloud Version 2.
  • A follow-up Sales Order is created in SAP S/4HANA or SAP ERP.
  • In the lead system (ERP or S/4HANA), subsequent documents such as Outbound Delivery and Invoice are created for the Sales Order.
  • However, in Sales Cloud, these documents are not visible in the Document Flow pane.

Example Document References

  • Sales Quote ID (Sales Cloud): 0001
  • Sales Order ID (S/4HANA): 1000
  • Follow-up Documents in S/4HANA:
    • Outbound Delivery: 8000001 (Status: Shipped)
    • Invoice: 90000099 (Status: Completed)

Environment

  • ERP
  • S4H
  • Sales Cloud Version 2

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to Menu → Sales Quote in SAP Sales Cloud.
  2. Open the respective Sales Quote.
  3. Go to the Document Flow pane and click Refresh.
  4. Observe that no Sales Documents from S/4HANA or ERP are displayed.

Cause

The service Retrieve Document Flow from SAP S/4HANA, SAP ERP, or SAP CPQ is not activated in the Sales Cloud Communication Configuration.

Resolution

To enable document flow retrieval, perform the following steps:

1. Configure Communication in SAP Sales Cloud

  • Copy the communication configuration template:
    Integrate Document Flow with SAP S/4HANA, SAP ERP, or SAP CPQ.
  • Add the HTTP service:
    Retrieve Document Flow from SAP S/4HANA, SAP ERP, or SAP CPQ.
  • Modify the API Path field to:
  • /cns/erp/getERPDocumentFlowOut

2. Deploy Integration Flow in SAP Cloud Integration

  • Open the integration package:
    SAP Sales Cloud Version 2 Integration for Sales Processes with SAP S/4HANA.
  • Deploy the integration flow:
    Retrieve Document Flow from SAP S/4HANA.

3. Configure Web Service in SAP S/4HANA

  • Run transaction SOAMANAGER.
  • Configure the object:
    COD_ERP_GET_DOC_FLOW in Simplified Web Service Configuration.

You can either:
  • Use the dedicated communication configuration, or
  • Add the service Retrieve Document Flow from SAP S/4HANA, SAP ERP, or SAP CPQ to the configuration Integrate Master Data with S/4HANA (HTTP).

Key Checklist

  1.  Communication configuration in Sales Cloud includes the Retrieve Document Flow service.
  2.  Integration flow deployed in SAP Cloud Integration with the latest version.
  3.  Web service configured in S/4HANA via SOAMANAGER.

Please Note: Document Flow Integrations are currently only supported for S4Hana On Premise and Private Cloud, and not yet for S4Hana Public Cloud.
