3699001 - How Are Automatic Changes Transported for Sales Order Replication Between SAP Sales Cloud and ERP?

Symptom

The available documentation for the integration between SAP Sales Cloud and ERP does not explain how automatic changes are transported.
When executing the connectivity reports RCOD_CREATE_CONNECTIVITY_SIMPL or RCOD_CONNECTIVITY_V2, a job is configured for sales order replication named:
C4C_<logical system id>_OUTBOUND

This job uses program RBDMAGAIN, which is designed to process failed IDocs only.
No other resource created by the report execution seems to manage the change process for sales orders.

Environment

Sales and Service Cloud Version 2

S4Hana

Reproducing the Issue

Run the Connectivity Report in S4H: RCOD_CREATE_CONNECTIVITY_SIMPL

Cause

The connectivity report primarily creates:

  • IDoc types
  • RFC connections
  • Partner profiles
and other technical objects required for integration.

However, the routine for processing changes in ALE is not handled by these reports.
Instead, it is defined in the output type configuration.

For Sales Orders, similar to Sales Cloud Version 1, the output type remains COD4.

Resolution

To ensure changes are transported automatically:

  • Maintain the condition record for the output type COD4.
  • This configuration determines when changes trigger IDoc generation for replication.

Please cross-check with your Basis team to confirm the setup.
